I know you’re probably asking, “which back brace do I need for my back pain condition? Well, I’m going to show you many of the type back braces there are and which one may be the right fit for you.

I know how it is not knowing which back brace for men or women is best for your situation. You may be in pain or just trying to avoid pain while you work, whatever the case a back brace can help you get the job done.

Getting the right back brace depends on the area of your back where you are feeling pain. For example, if you are feeling pain in your lower back then you need a lumbar back brace.

If you don’t understand what lumbar is, or other words used to describe the type of back brace, it basically is the part of your spine. Lumbar is the lower area of the spine. I’ll go over some spinal cord areas so you can know what they are called and what they mean.

These are the types of back braces labeled by the spinal cord positions. What I mean is each name type is a location on the spine and has a back brace specifically for that section.

This is the most known type of back brace. This type of back brace focuses on lower back pain relief. This brace provides the best back support for the lumbar area. The lumbar area of your spine starts at the middle of your back and travels down to the bottom of your spine near waist level.

This type of back brace works by applying pressure to your torso area to protect your spine and muscles. It helps with many lower back conditions.

I often feel pain in my lower back and this is the brace that helps me to get relief. The lumbar area is the most effected part of the back as it is the center point for a lot of body movements.

Thoracic

This type of brace is usually to better your posture. It is commonly referred to as a posture corrector. The thoracic area of your spine starts from the back of your neck to the middle of your back.
